So this may be the very first ADULT blog for quilters and I have a lot of nerve starting one! Right now, I’m so crazy busy with writing my C&T books, designing quilts for the Houston Quilt Market and writing the magazine, I can barely see straight! That said, I’m looking at this blog to be the precursor to an accompanying podcast and/or vidcast in the near future (AKA after market).
I know that I have a forum in Mark Lipinski’s Quilter’s Home magazine for all things quilting, but the truth is that it really isn’t a personal free-for-all and was never meant to be anything more than an entertaining lifestyle magazine for quilters. Yes, I might mention a thing or two about places I’ve been, people I’ve met and things I’ve done, but only on a fairly superficial level and when it is relevant to editorial content.
This blog will be the place where I give you my real, no holds barred, comments on all things quilting and beyond from my PERSONAL point of view. Sometimes serious or funny, sometimes a very adult PG-13 to R-rated (you can handle it and if not, you might want to leave this site immediately), plus things that are happening professionally and in my day-to-day life. It’s a place where you, as a registered member of this blog, can post your own stuff, comments, experiences and reactions—unedited—where you can be your true self and not have to continue to be the “good girl” or “good boy” ad nauseam.
I am in the very lucky position of seeing quilting products, books, etc. that I don’t have room to talk about in Quilter’s Home. I’ll talk about them and show them here.
So what do you think? Shall we begin? xooxm

Wow! Mark’s blog. Love it. One problem – I can’t subscribe to it because there’s no RSS feed. Any chance of getting it set up that way? Either way, I’ll be back (said in a non-Arnold choice).

You So Rock! Thank you for a magazine that allows creativity and freedom of speech. Neither of which requires a pattern.

Oh thank God, a quilty blog where none of us have to behave like well brought up 80 year olds? You can be you and I can be me, with limited editing? Fabulous!

Mark, Jeff did an awesome job with the design of your site. The layout is easy to maneuver. Kuddos, kuddos, kuddos!! Now, with your personality and writing skills, this place will be the quilters choice for getting honest opinions on what’s happening in the industry. Congratulations on all your success….your’ve worked hard for it and deserve all the accolades you receive. My best…as always….MJ

Thanks for the invite to visit your website (and blog). It’s bookmarked it as a favorite. I’m impatiently waiting to get my hands on a QM subscription card and those yummy Katmandu fabrics. Checking my December calendar to see if a trip to Southbury, CT would be in my future …
