I’m off to Lincoln, Nebraska tomorrow — with snow in the forecast here, in New Joisey.  I hope I can get out of Newark!

Found another “new” old book that I picked up.  It’s called Quicker Quiltsby Linda Rimel (is she still around?) This one I like, although I can’t tell you why as there is nothing totally unique in it by today’s standards — but it does have a “woven” quilt in it that I kind of like.  It’s from 1985 and cost me $9-bucks.  I love that all of the “how to’s” are hand drawn!  LOL

I wanted to show you a piece of fabric that I saw in a window that was simply embellished.   It’s just a plain piece of fabric with hand drawn swirls and done with a bead/sequin embroidery technique – which you Nebraska Pickles will learn on Saturday! 

Mark’s American Idol Watch

  I thought I heard Connie Francis spinning in her grave after Amy Davis butchered Where the Boys Are.   What?  Connie’s not dead?  Well this rendition fricking KILLED her! 

Oh dear …she looks dead and propped up as a feature in the Wax Museum . . .

  I so much do not like Carly Smithson.  I just don’t. But I have to give her props for her performance.  She has pipes.

  Nice surprise from this youngin’, Alaina Whitaker who is only 16.   

I still like the guys better so far this year.  At least they don’t all look alike.  The girls look like they all came out of the same Barbie mold.  Blech!  Except for this next one . . .

Not crazy about her.  Amanda Overmyer.  I loathe affectation!    Now she’s only 23 – but looks like she’s been ridden hard and hung up wet.  She looks like she’s 40!  Blech!  And, well, the rocker shtick is so yesteryear.

Friends and Foes

Yesterday, I gave you a link to the FRIEND who writes the  My Quilt Life Blog.  I actually reread it today on the advice of another Pickle.  Seems Quilt Life thinks that the quilts in QH are computer generated.   Au Contra-ire!  All of the quilts in Mark Lipinski’s Quilter’s Home are the real deal — photographs of quilts from our designers.  Computer generated!  Humph!  (I even went back and looked through the issues).  

A Peach in Stitches has TWO Mark Lipinski’s Quilter’s Home magazines.  A familiar lament!
