Baby Chicks Arrive!

Several weeks ago, I got the bug to try to hatch some of the chicken eggs that were being laid in my coop.

I went to a chicken supply house in Flemington, NJ and bought a incubator and all of the junk that goes with it for about $145 bucks.   Jeff and I put 6 eggs into the contraption for the hell of it, not expecting a thing.

Yesterday our first chick arrived.

As of this morning, we have 4 out of the shell chicklets and one working its way out.

There has been no action in the 6th egg yet.  Not bad for two guys who know nothing about chicken breeding (but we have a rooster who is apparently  packing a punch)!  More pics later!

Love to you from Atlanta!  xoxom

QH on CHELSEA LATELY TONIGHT!

chelsea-lately

Jeff and I were just watching “Chelsea Lately” on E!  tonight and QUILTER’S HOME was on it!   Check for reruns!   The show comes on at 11 each night but they rerun the hell out of them.   So you don’t have to watch the whole thing,  Chelsea is wearing a peach top with little shoulder straps and jeans. The monologue starts out . . .

“Since Chuy started to grace televisions across this great land, the ripple effect of his influance has been staggering.” with a clip of Celebrity Apprentice, about “midgets.”

Holy Cow!

Of course, like all that has been reported,  it was somewhat  inaccurate, but the cover of the magazine was on camera the whole time!  Amazing!  And funny!

The guest tonight was Ali Landry from the online show, Spotlight to Nightlight.

Goin’ ’round in circles!

So, dudes, this is what I was sent today.  Thought you Baby Lockers might be interested.  xoxom

Shipshewana Quilt Festival is Looking for Quilts to Showcase

The first annual Shipshewana Quilt Festival Show being held June 24-27 at the Farmstead Inn and Convention Center is looking for entries in the festival juried show. The festival is rapidly becoming the must attend event, attracting nationally known speakers and waves of pre-registration. Thornburg further stated, “Quilting is such an important part to the culture and history of LaGrange County and the surrounding area that it is only natural that we want to highlight and reward the work of the areas quilters.” Quilt entries will be accepted until May 15, 2009. “While this is a juried show we hope anyone and everyone will enter their quilts,” stated Thornburg.
