Outs and Ins for 2008

times-square.jpg   Happy New Year, from Times Square, Turnips!

This morning I was thinking about what trends I see for the upcoming year (or wish I would see) and thought I’d toss a few out into the cosmos.

Of course, since these are highly subjective, don’t get your panties in a knot — but I’d like you hear what your “Ins and Outs” are for the new year, too — either for yourself or for the quilting community.

Can’t say I agree with all, but I do agree with several. I totally agree with pink being out and orange in – for me I always liked orange best!
Crocs are still in for me – they are my simple shoes ;-). Happy New Year

Too funny, I grew up in Humble, TX and LOVE the Pappasitos!!! I is my favorite restraunt and whenever I go home, I go there. My BIL is the head bartender there and I get free food, the only thing better than Pappasitos is FREE Pappasitos!!!

No, no, no! As hideous looking as Crocs are, they are SO-O-O-O comfortable they can never be out. I’ll retire my pink ones and buy orange, but that’s as far as I’m going. BTW: Polyester quilts? Give away the stash? Do I see pigs flying?

Love it! Now that is a list to live by – me thinks I’ll print it up and post it on my design board to go over every now and then to brighten my day! You crack me up, see ya in Portland in a few months – dang is that show coming quick or what!

  12. January 2, 2008 at 1:11 AM #

I so agree about the small sewing grooups – I even know of one in Houston that meets twice a month to actually sew for four hours at a time – much better than a quilt guild where most of the meeting is business and the other half is show and tell.

I hope strollers ARE in at quilt shows. I am still burned about being turned away for that.

A most FANTASTIC list. I love those shoes!! :0) What a great idea! Annie’s podcast IS THE BEST! I would choose the blackberry over the iphone only because i can’t get service here for it. Santa brought me an ipod touch for Christmas and it is a most FAB toy :0) I recommend. Now I have annie on the go and soon my online quilt shows!
