Not So Mellow Yellow!
Cupcakes, apparently the color trend and current darling of retail is electric yellow! I happened to be in my local mall, camera in hand, and then off to Princeton for a shopping spree this past weekend, only to find electric greenish yellow, everywhere!
Of course, I was DEEE-lighted because it’s one of the colors that I debut in my new OAKDALE line at Quilt Market in May. Judging from what I see in shop windows, I’m right on the money!
OK, look at the color and never mind that this dress looks like something ripped out of the lid of a coffin!
Even the home dec palette is coming up YELLOW! Here’s peeking in the door of Pottery Barn!
So, chicklets, YELLOW it is. And keeping with the spirit, here’s a pic of moi wearing yellow.

Oh dear god…I look like Minnie Pearl (old and washed out) when I wear yellow. I can see it’s going to be all black, all the time this summer…

Once again, you made me laugh ou loud at the end of a very stressful day. The coffin lining dress was too much. Thanks for the “comedy therapy”, all I could think of on my own to feel better was a couple of Cosmos.

Yellow isn’t my favorite color…the only reason my purse is yellow is so I can FIND IT! But, as a British tattoo artist told me once, nothing is complete without a little bit of yellow added!

Oh boy! LOVE that color, and I’m one of the few who can wear it without looking barfy (or is it that I look that way anyhow??? who cares? I love yellow. And snot green.) At the Hampton show, I bought one of Reid Barnhart’s blanket vests in the most AMAZING shade of yellow…can’t wait to go find something I can wear it with besides the pea greens and deep rose reds in my winter “wardrobe” (and I use that term loosely, indeed).

Yellow is the new LiveSTRONG color. Pantone decided it was the new It color. I dig it.
