Smells like Teen Spirit Mojo!

The next generation of creativity

From my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, meet Rachael Tobin, a 17-year-old who was diagnosed with diabetes 5 year ago.  Did that stop her?  No way, Jose!

Rachael put her creative mojo to work.  She turned her hobby into a passion for helping others by making bracelets and selling them. Each one has a hope charm symbolizing her hope for a diabetes cure.   In the time she had been first diagnosed, Rachael Tobin’s company, Rachael’s Cure by Design,  had donated more than $35,000 Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month.

Mark..have you considered selling, via your website or DVD’s, your lectures as “Pickle Road Studio pay-per-view?” I would really enjoy the opportunity to see your lectures, but time and economic constraints will probably prevent that from happening.

However, it would be fun to watch your lectures at home, via computer for a charge! I’m sure i’m not the only one who would find it Fab as well.

    Just a random thought!

    Mark-
I’m almost caught up with the Creative Mojo episodes. OMG – I am enjoying every minute of it. As I listen to each segment in each episode, I come back with tons of nuggets to add to my life.

I also find it amazing – you and I are very similar. The desire to get out of the creative funk and don’t where to start is huge in my life right now. You and your guests have inspired me to take one day at a time. I’ve started Morning Pages — actually I cheated and did them at Night. I did that for 2 weeks. I switched to actually doing it in the morning a week ago and it’s way more challenging. My energy and thoughts are more active in the evening.

And listen, I hear you about needing meds and therapy. For the last 2 years, I’ve been struggling with panic, anxiety and now depression has seaped its way into system. A work in progress-I call it “Reinvent Rachel”. It’s just comforting to know that us creative types share similar issues and are looking for ways to better ourselves.

Like I said, thank you for the inspiration and certainly the laughs. My Amazon Wish List is getting longer from all the books you’ve recommend.

    Kudos to you Head Cupcake!

    Off to be creative,
    Rachel
BTW- for reference -I’m the one who designed the Show Pins for the NJ State Quilt Guild Shows.
