Glass Artist and Designer

Tim Dorland

Here’s a little about Tim:

Tim Dorland, born in Montana and raised in Oregon, grew up with a reverence for nature which is reflected in his art. Graduating in 1983 from Portland State Universitywith a degree in fine art, he eventually found his way into a large stained glass warehouse and teaching facility. Soon he was working there and began to teach basic glass classes after a one year apprenticeship. Little did he know that there he would find his life’s passion in creating and teaching glass art.  Tim has taught hundreds of people various glass techniques, and his glass art is held by many collectors worldwide. In 1999, Tim left his job at the glass warehouse to establish the T. Dorland Glass Studio.

Upon moving to New Jersey to marry and start a new life, he has also expanded his studio. Tim now accepts commissions and teaches classes in all fine art glass techniques, including

  • painting on glass

  • glass mosaics

  • stained and leaded glass

  • etched glass

  • kiln-formed glass

  • glass jewelry and

  • glass bead making.

His new studio is located in Colts Neck, New Jersey, above his wife’s glass gift shop, where both their artwork is displayed.

Are you a nightowl?

What time of day are you most creative?

When are you most productive?

Writer & Editor

Erin Falconer

And we’re talking about Productivity for Nightowls!

Here’s a little about Erin:

Erin Falconer is the Editor in Chief  of PicktheBrain.com as well as  the Director of Content and Marketing for ThisNext.com and StyleHive.com. She was formerly the Managing Editor of PeopleJam.com. She has written for a variety of national blogs and magazines.

What is Pick the Brain?

PicktheBrain.com is a website dedicated to self improvement with a focus on personal productivity, motivation, and self education.

The first article was published to PickTheBrain.com on November 22, 2006. Since then it has become one of the fastest growing self improvement sites on the web.

PickTheBrain diverges from traditional “self-help” by taking a broader approach. Rather than sticking to a small set of topics, the site covers anything related to self improvement. Any information that people can use to live more prosperous, satisfying lives is a potential article.

Although the site covers a wide range of topics, most articles fall into 5 core categories.

  • Personal Productivity – Time is our most precious resource. Managing it effectively is essential for an excellent life.
  • Motivation – We only get as far as we can push ourselves. This site will help you overcome mental blocks and motivate yourself to act.
  • Self Education – Learning shouldn’t end after graduation. Rather than focusing on academics, this site covers the most valuable education — the one you give yourself each and every day.
  • Psychology – Our thoughts control our behavior which creates our reality. By understanding how we think, we can generate the positive thoughts required for success.
  • Philosophy – The approach you have in life can mean everything. Philosophy is about becoming wiser day by day and developing a harmonic existence with the world.

PickTheBrain.com also offers a full content RSS feed and email updates. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on any new articles.
