Creative Mojo with Mark Lipinski —
And my co-host is . . . .
Quilter and Author
Here’s a little about Linda:
We met as members of The State Quilt Guild of New Jersey. In those days we were both quilters but neither of us were really teaching or writing or, making quilting our primary business. She bought a long arm machine, became proficient and soon started a business and then began teaching. Her first book, written with co-author, Merry May, is called, Insider’s Guide to Quilting Careers. Now, her brand new book is getting a lot of buzz. It’s called, New York Beauty Simplified, published by American Quilter’s Society.

Are you a leader? Do you have leadership issues in your guild or group?
We’re talking with Transformational Leadership: A Blueprint for Real Organizational Change author
Here’s a little about Randy:
Randy Dobbs is a “Transformational Leader” with a proven track record of turning around businesses and improving morale at the various companies he has been associated with. Randy has been motivational speaking for over 30 years helping to impart his proven leadership skills to employees at Welsh, Carson, Anderson, & Stowe portfolio companies, USIS, Philips Medical and GE. His book, Transformational Leadership: A Blueprint for Real Organizational Change, is one of those books that is most certainly helpful to the bigwigs and ladder climbers in businesses and corporations. But I think that we leaders in our own, much smaller artistic and volunteer organizations can also greatly benefit from this book.

THEN we have Debra Gabel
to talk about her book,
Quilt Blocks Across America
Here’s a little about Debra Gabel . . .
I met my next guest, at Quilt Market a few years ago when I was pulled into her Zebra Patterns booth because I loved her City and State Postage Stamp Quilts that she designed. I have been a fan of her work ever since and was totally jazzed to find her new book from C&T Publishing, Quilt Blocks Across America: Appliqué Patterns for 50 States & Washington DC. Each postage stamp design reflects the unique qualities of every state in the Union plus the nation’s capital. Raw-edge fusible appliqué makes the layered patterns quick and easy to complete and the 6-inch quilt blocks can be enlarged to any size using the included pattern CD. These appliqué designs are a great way to use favorite fabrics from your stash and treasured scraps to sew up vacation memories.

Then we have award-winning soft toys and soft sculpture designer turned author
AND new mom…
Here’s more about Abby … Abigail Patner Glassenberg has been making award-winning soft toys and soft sculptures since 2005. She has made more than 100 birds of every variety, selling them in galleries, boutiques, craft shows, and online.
Her new book, The Artful Bird: Feathered Friends to Make and Sew, is so much fun to look at and I defy you to pick it up without wanting to make a few of your own feathered friends! I tried to book her on the show the moment her book arrived at my desk but she had to pass – she had just given birth!
Abby’s work has also been featured in magazines, and in sewing, craft, and soft-sculpture books. She lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
