How often have you become super involved in what was supposed to be an exciting new artistic and creative journey only to find yourself laboring over something that you have ended up hating?
Maybe you’re losing yourself in the details? Details can kill creative inspiration and expression. But you can cure the curse and get back on track by taking a second look at the big picture, the long term, the reason you have decided to become the creative person you are to begin with.
That’s not to say that details are not important to creative, artistic and business success, because they are fundamental. What I am warning against, and asking you to become aware of, is the powerful tendency to become so mired in the details and minutiae of a creative project and what you perceive as a successful artistic result, that you forget the importance of your unique and invaluable, loose and flexible creative process.
