Mark on Sharing Your Creativity

No matter what level your expertise,  the various techniques you apply, size, scope or method of your artistic expression, know that what you create, no matter how small and seemingly insignificant, can change the world.

What you possess in your imagination, once brought forth, is sure to touch someone, somewhere, in their most visceral, vulnerable and deep place, affecting them in a uniquely personal and individual way. That’s what art and craft does.

As a creative human being, it’s not up to you to create what you think are monumental works of art.   It’s not your worry to wonder if your art will be loved and revered by the masses.  It’s none of your business where or how your work is processed by others, or if it will last through the ages.  It’s only important that you create, true to your vision, and share your talent with the universe.

No artist can ever be promised greatness.  But just by creating your art, you have given something to the world that only you can give.  You will leave behind a piece of yourself, your creative DNA if you will, that no other artist or creative can compare to.

Keep the inspiration coming! I am in the process of dreaming and forming the foundation, with my niece, for a small business with miniature gardens as the initial draw. We’re researching business plans, etc. and using your blog to keep us from thinking “this is too crazy to try, it will never work”!

I really enjoyed reading your blog post…..especially when you said, “it’s not up to you to create what you think are monumental works of art”. Instead it is more important to create and be true to your vision. Loved that!!! I’m about to make an important move, and there is a bit of fear that I’m having. Reading positive posts like this helps to minimize that fear. Thank you for all the care that you put into your writings.

Don’t allow fear to stop your forward movement. Of course there are realities of money, bills, commitments, etc. but acting out of, or withholding creative and positive energy out of fear only blocks you and your forward momentum. I don’t want to imply that walking through fear guarantees success, because it doesn’t. What it does do is allows you to take a step forward that will need to the next step you’ll need to take, and so on. Walk on. You can handle anything that’s thrown your way. Honest! xoxom

Wonderful post, Mark! Just the ‘shot in the arm’ I needed! I’ve been feeling like my creativity is not as good as all those people out there who have ‘made it’, but your blog inspired me to have more confidence in what I can do. Thanks, so much! You are a total inspiration!

An absolutely super post, Mark! Your sharing the word, am sure, helps a lot of artists that are hesitant to launch their inspiration(s).
Thank you for your inspiration and good thoughts!
