Being a creative person and processing your thoughts in an open, imaginative way is only one piece of the puzzle for creative souls like us. Believe it or not, recognizing and being grateful to those who have inspired your art, ignited your passions, and who help you to keep your creative flame burning hot (even during periods of uninspired downpours) is vital.
Yes, as I have told you many times before, your art is your art. Your process is your process. Your creative journey is your creative journey. And you own all of it. But never lose sight of the fact that your creativity is due, in part, to every single person you have met and interacted with during your entire life!
Yeah, yeah, it sounds all “new agey” but where do you think all of those experiences go, even the seemingly insignificant ones? You store them — sometimes in your brain, sometimes in your soul and sometimes in your heart, but they are always with you and always will be for you to draw from and become creatively empowered by.
Each of your life experiences have carried you to the creative place you are now. Everyone you meet in the future will help you continue on your creative journey. Thank those in your life for their past service to your art. And when you attract, meet and bring new people to your life, know in advance that your experiences with them will be sacred to your future creative process!
