I went WILD buying more stash…

Before I show you my coupon extravaganza, let me show you the sweetness of NessaReifsnyder, last week’s Creative Mojo co-host.

Nessa brought me some booty . . .  here it is:

  1. A giant dotted rubber stamp for texture in my art journaling
  2. A set of two-tipped Stamp Markers
  3. Jolee’s Boutique dimensional cupcake stickers
  4. Reflections clear stamps

Now, MY damage:

I found 17 of these fabulous tissue paper sets in my local Dollar Store!  (I had to have them all, wouldn’t you?)

5  tissue paper sets

1 puzzle (to be repurposed)

3 sheets a of recycled, handmade paper

3 pieces of scrapbook paper (2-sided)

Paint pen applicator tips

Several clear stamps.

1 red and 1 green glitter pen

2 Water soluble graphite pens

A giant rubber stamp

a package of printed tissue papers

An “M” tablet for note taking on my desk

Paper Mod Podge

A can of paper petals

Stencils

Best part?

I got EVERY SINGLE THING ON SALE!  EVERYTHING!   I made a game of it and wouldn’t BUY it if it wasn’t at a discount!  No kidding!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST  . . .

I finally finished my art journal page  . . .

I screwed up the lettering, of course, and needed to cover it (ENTER: paper petals).  I glued them in, then glued plastic “crystals” in the middle of each.  I also added the two grooms and finished it on the first day that NEW YORK legally allowed same-sex marriages.  I went over the entire piece with, what else? Glitter Mod Podge!

Today’s blog-spiration, up next, cupcakes!  xoxom

Great work on the sale and the art journal page. You look like a pro! What out Teesha Moore and Traci Bautista.

Well, if it makes you feel better, it wasn’t “THE DOLLAR STORE” but a kind of Dollar Store. Relieved? LOL xoxom

I find it, believe it or not, very similar to art quilting. It’s the same process, different medium. Try it. It’s easy. You can’t lose! xoxom

Oh Mark – you are a natural. So good with color – have you ever considered a career in the arts? (read: dripping with sweaty sarcasm)

I have a project and materials I have set aside that I hve not done. It would be similar to journaling. Its basically on canvas instead. Think am going to take another look at my supplies and see what I can do.
Thanks, Mark for the inspiration… ;D!

Jealous of, and happy for, you all at the same time. I also love to quilt and paper-craft. There are a lot of the exact same principles involved.

Living vicariously thru your shopping spree… no more fabric or craft supplies until Quilt Festival in November. I’m using what I have on hand to make projects I’ve been planning to do forever. Not buying more is actually making me more creative! (But still a little jealous of your bargains…)
