Photographer, Artist, Actress, Art.wear Designer

Angela Cartwright, known for her memorable acting roles in Make Room for Daddy, The Sound of Music and Lost In Space, has been a photographer and artist for more than four decades. Her work is exhibited and collected internationally.

Angela’s work is a fusion of photography, painting and altered art, exploring the interplay of nature with man-made objects — creating combinations of shadow and light that compel the viewer to take a closer look. After capturing an image with black and white film, she treats the piece as a ‘canvas’, adding color as an enhancement that gives it a timeless quality.  The end result is an intriguing blend of a painting emerging from within the photograph which she interprets with the use of acrylic, oil paints, inks, written word and ephemera.

Angela’s book Mixed Emulsions – Altered Art for Photographic Imagery was inspired by her collections of altered which explores Angela’s hand-painted photography and her unique altered art techniques. To explore mixed media visual narrative, she partnered with artist Sarah Fishburn to co-author In This House – A Collection of Altered Art Imagery and Collage Techniques and In This Garden – Explorations In Mixed Media Visual Narrative.   Angela and Sarah also collaborate on the QUality ART Zine Pasticcio Quartz.

Recently Angela collaborated on The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook with her movie von Trapp siblings from the movie The Sound of Music. Together they gathered their personal photographs, home movies and memorabilia to create a one of a kind scrapbook, sharing their story of making the movie with their fans around the world.

Angela has written numerous articles for magazines on photography and altered art techniques. Her art has been licensed for numerous products, including artist papers, rubber stamps and posters. She has also produced a clothing line that incorporates her hand painted photo art images on natural, easy to wear art.wear.

Angela’s artworks reflect her ‘unruly’ and observant worldview:

Mixed-Media Artist, Teacher, Gemologist

About JULIE…

Julie says, “I was born and raised in San Diego, a city that plays an important role in the intriguing multicultural and multifaceted larger art colony called Southern California.

While other kids were forced to sit idly as their mothers systematically searched hordes of wallpaper samples in hellishly large books, my mom towed me to art stores to explore a myriad of wondrous art supplies. But it wasn’t until high school that my creative urge was truly awakened by an inspiring photography teacher. Receiving a few local awards prompted me to seek a profession that was equally creative and fulfilling. I obtained a degree from the Gemology Institute of America that not only included the grading of gemstones but gave me an appreciation of the natural beauty of gems and their artful transformation into pieces of jewelry.

My professional time as a gemologist came to an end with the birth of my daughter, an event that saw the beginning of my career as an artist.

I have one non-negotiable prerequisite and that is the ongoing examination of my own motives in the creative process, yielding art that is both original and personal.”

Julie Prichard offers a vast array of affordable, mixed-media online workshops (such as the one pictured above!) at

Enigmatic and open-hearted at once, are Julie’s works:

Journal Artist, Stamp & Stencil Designer, Graphic Illustrator, Workshop Instructor

Michelle says, ” I enjoy experimenting in different art forms but always returns to my favorite thing – working with paper and paint in journals.  I feel blessed to be on fire for creativity, with a constant curiosity about how to express that.  I wear many hats – wife and mom of three, stamp and stencil designer, graphic illustrator, and workshop instructor.  It’s been a privilege to be published in several books on journaling and related paper arts, as well as Somerset Studio magazine where I write a column:  Make It Your Own.”

“I will be teaching three workshops this year,” Michelle reports. “My annual three-day venue at Valley Ridge Art Studio as well as two workshops in NEW JERSEY! for the Create Event in July.  It’s been a long time since I’ve taught in NJ and I am excited to meet up with old friends in the art community and make some new ones.”

Michelle’s pieces display a flair for texture and typography:
