YOKE DU YOUR

DrunkMonkey

A woman in a bar sees a friend at a table, drinking by himself.Approaching the friend she comments, “You look terrible.

What’s the problem?”

“My mother died in June,” he said, “and left me $10,000.”

“Gee, that’s tough,” she replied.

“Then in July,” the friend continued, “My father died, leaving me $50,000.”

“Wow. Two parents gone in two months. No wonder you’re depressed.”

“And last month my aunt died, and left me $15,000.”

“Three close family members lost in three months?

How sad.”

“Then this month,” continued, the friend, “nothing!”

***PROGRAM – July 28, 2015

MARK LIPINSKI

“SLOW STITCHING MOVEMENT”

SS Workshop

Quick, fast, easy. In our busy, multitasking world, those buzzwords capture our attention. But speed can kill creativity and the enjoyment of our creative pursuits.  Maybe what we really need to do is slow down, enjoy the process, and create fiber art that we’re really proud of. But how?

The Slow Stitching Movement is an illuminating revolution within the stitching and fiber art  industry, launched by international quilting personality Mark Lipinski. Modeled after the international Slow Food movement, The Slow Stitching Movement is open to all fiber and needle artists and will prepare you for a higher form of creativity and important work in the needle and fiber arts, be it quilting, knitting, crochet, tatting, embroidery, rug hooking, weaving, needlepoint, cross stitch, etc.

Following the tenets of The Slow Stitching Movement you will:

Approach your creative art-making in a totally different way.
Recharge your passion for the needle fiber arts .
Engage the connection between your body, your quilts, and your legacy.        .
Expand your creativity, self-esteem and even your spiritual journey.
Tap your right brain, to train and develop your imagination.
Find the creative genius in you.
Implement your creative thought in today’s too-fast world.

Heal your life, emotions and boost your physical health.
Create groups and habits to support your creative vision.

Programs are  are open to all members of WVQG. There is a $5 fee for non-members.

facebook-down-NDJ

Several months ago, Facebook, without warning, had implemented a new business model. As a result, the vast majority of “LIKErs” who have been faithful readers of this Fan Page have been blocked from receiving my posts, time and time again, from getting all or a few of the postings onto their timeline feed.

The reason is, Facebook would like pages like, Mark Lipinski’s Fan Page, to pay money every day, and on every post, in order to advertise and lure readers like you, onto the Fan Page.

With out “BOOSTING” a post, only about 5% of people who clicked LIKE on MARK LIPINSKI’S FAN PAGE are actually seeing anything I post — and it could be random – sometimes you get a post, and sometimes not. Basically, it sucks for all of us. I am finding that we are all better served if I posted my tips, ideas, links, and jokes, etc. to this blog. You can subscribe to this blog (only if you want to) to get an email each time I post a grouping of ideas, links, etc. and never miss a chance at inspiration.

Make a squeaky two for Fido!  I know that my Tulip, Petunia and Violet would love one (especially Violet – she’s a wild woman)!   By the way, Petunia really rallied with her illness!  She’s pretty much back to her old self and we couldn’t be happier (although pushing up daisies comes to us all).   It cost a bunch (so the next time you see me I won’t have an arm or a leg)  but she’s still with us (…and the vet sent her home with me for the weekend only to say ‘goodbye’).   Another follow up visit this afternoon. Laura, I took a look at your blog. You have some beautiful projects! Obviously you are an accomplished quilter. I also love that you foster kitties, as I have two rescues of my own. Isn’t it wonderful that we are all different–some extroverted and some introverted; some exuberant and some more sedate; some quiet and some LOUD!! How boring the world would be, even just the world of quilters, if we were all the same. 🙂
