KATHY BROWN
About Kathy…
Kathy is an accomplished quilter, fabric designer and sought after teacher in the quilt industry. Kathy has self-published over 125 patterns and 7 booklets as well as having a book published with Martingale and two books published with The House of White Birches. She has been a featured contributor in numerous magazines including The Quilter, Create and Decorate, Quick and Easy Quilting, McCalls Quick Quilts and Fabric Trends. Two of her quilts have been featured on the covers of The Quilter and Mark Lipinski’s Quilter’s Home. Her patterns are geared toward both the experienced and beginning quilter in mind, and are designs that may look intricate but are very simple to construct, as evidenced by her most popular pattern Take 5 and new book Take 5 – Quilts From Just 5 Fabrics. Kathy’s quilts are designed to be made in a day or a weekend whereby the quilter can get instant gratification! When Kathy is not busy designing a new fabric line or new quilt patterns, you can find her teaching and lecturing for quilt guilds and quilt shops across the United States.
Kathy is married to Michael, her best friend of 33 years, and they live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with Maddie and Mia – their two German Shepherds, Ella Fitzgerald – their Welsh Corgi, and Abbie – their rescued Catahoula Leopard dog as well as six very independent cats. They are the very proud parents of a daughter, Erin, who is an emergency room/ trauma nurse in Houston, TX. When Kathy is not at her sewing machine, you can find her watching old movies with Michael or enjoying their lovely backyard oasis and tending to their mini zoo!

About Helen…
Helen Hiebert is a Vail, Colorado artist who constructs installations, sculptures, films and artist books using handmade paper, thread and light to create transcendent experiences that alter viewers’ perceptions of time, space and form. She teaches and lectures about papermaking and lamp-making internationally, and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Oregon College of Art & Craft. Helen exhibits her work internationally, she is author of the books Papermaking with Plants, The Papermaker’s Companion, and Paper Illuminated, and she is a regular contributor to Hand Papermaking Newsletter. Helen has an extensive network of paper colleagues around the world and her interest in how things are made (from paper) keeps her up-to-date on current paper trends. AMY KOPPERUDE
Chasing Amy…
Amy grew up in rural Minnesota and began a life of crafting with a box of leftover fabric scraps, wallpaper samples, ribbon, buttons, and unwanted notions. She entered her teens with a passion for drawing, her college years with a passion for sewing, and her early thirties with a passion for beading. Today, she loves to experiment with all media–learning to paint, solder jewelry, and more. She loves to brainstorm ideas for more creative projects and books.
