Wednesday!!! Hump Day!!!

I read in the newspaper today that our own quilting Marie Osmond (by the way, I really LIKED Marie’s fabric lines but they didn’t get much press) is going back on daytime TV with another talk show.   Well you can bet that it’s not going to be about quilting.   Don’t think it’ll ever get mentioned.   Not unless you want to hear remote controls clicking channels from coast to coast.

marie.jpg  Before I continue, I want to say that I LOVE MARIE OSMOND.  How can you NOT love Marie Osmond?  I love everything about her.  EVERYTHING!  Always have.  Always will.   But she described her new show as a giving women a place to go to cry.   Now here’s the quote: “It’s nice to have a destination to cry.”    Surely the women of daytime TV America are not so screwed up that they have to turn on a television show to cry!

“Next on “MARIE”:  Appointment Crying!”   Click here to read the article in the New York Post.

If you want a good cry all you’ll have to do is pick up a TV Guide and leaf through it.  If a listing all of the terribly shitty programming that’s shoved down our throats every day and night won’t make you sob hysterically, then watching Marie’s show won’t even cause a moist eye.

NOTE TO MARIE:  Find yourself a new producer and FAST!  (and I’m only telling you this, sweetie, because you’re one of us).

Today I’m finishing up writing the next issue.  It’s going to be a marathon weekend.  The trip to California really took it out of me.  That said, in looking over my notes, this should be another good issue.

    Mark,
I totally agree about Marie. I thought she was terrific when I was a kid, and I still like her….I found clips of the Donny and Marie show on YouTube, and thought…wow, I still love them! (the scarey part is I remember Donny’s birthday…only because it was Pearl Harbor day as well December 7th…)
I always thougth Marie was so pretty…there is a young girl at church and just this last Sunday she was wearing one of those go-go type hats, and I thought she looked just like Marie in 1975 or so…adorable girl…not too skinny or fat…just right in between….too old for my boys, but I keep hoping for a DIL like her!!! Anyway…yup…I love Marie Osmond too!!! ….you think she will be at Quilt Market in May?????

I have been really enjoy reading your blog. I do a show called Surtex as I’m sure you’re aware of this show. At the time a few years back Marie and her people were scouting for designers to help her develop a scrapbook collection. I met some people who worked for her in the morning and they mentioned she might be at the show. I did not think much of it. Until later that day I was sitting at my booth and there was a bowl of Swedish Fish in front of me. I hear this little voice come up and say “You must love me” (because I had those fish). I looked up at her like “well who are you”? At first I did not realize it was Marie. I thought to myself oh I think I know this person. Took a double take as I inserted my foot in to my mouth . Then I said oh you are Marie Osmond. Anyway just to let you know she was wonderfully pleasant and I really enjoyed my moment with her. This show she has coming sounds very UPbeat…LOL. Thanks again for your terrific blog and magazine .

Received my Quilters home Magazine today in the mail. Was kind of upset with it because some of the pages were folded into each other and stapled in half and unable to even read any of the article. I have enjoyed all the articles in previous magazines and wished I could read all this month but no go, very fustrating.

That’s horribly frustrating. Give Subscriptions a call with any problems: 1/866-429-0133. xoxom

Hey Mark! First I LOVE your blog, pretty much starting to get addicted…..great diversion when I need a break from work. You get me laughing all the time, thank you for that : ) I noticed Joan’s comment about the condition of her magazine in the mail, mine was a mess as well. I will be calling the Subscriptions Dept as well.

I love Marie. Always have. Memories of the Osmonds on Andy Williams are a favorite. I think her fabrics are beautiful and I look forward to her show. But she should listen to you, Mark. There is plenty to cry about in this life and I need more laughter in mine and a lot less tears! Hopefully, with Marie’s personality any crying will dissolve into laughter fast. (I hope that makes sense.)
